What to expect

Knowing what to expect when using Christine Ferris’s therapeutic services of psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy and coaching is helpful so that you can decide if this is right for you. Normally this gentle treatment takes around 4-6 sessions. The first session is over an hour and is an opportunity to identify and define realistic, clear goals, for you to tell me about yourself and tell me about the things that are important to you. It is also a good time to identify a baseline so that future progress can be measured. You will be asked to fill out forms about your current and past physical and emotional health. After the first session you will leave with appropriate information and having experienced relaxation. Subsequent sessions are just under an hour and consist of whatever is required but usually there will be updates and information giving as well as talking therapies. Most therapeutic programmes include hypnosis but only from the second session onwards. Some clients complete their programme then have top up sessions if they are in highly stressful situations or when perfect performance is essential e.g. elite athletes.  I use a combination of techniques and you can expect to record any hypnosis scripts onto your mobile phone so that you have this resource with you in a convenient and private format. If you have any questions during your appointments I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. All sessions involve me listening to you but it is not like talking to a friend, this is clinical, objective, balanced and unbiased listening of which I have over 30 years of experience.

Generally, therapeutic services cannot be successful unless you want to be there and it will not “fix” you. Only you can “fix” you and Christine Ferris’s therapeutic services will help you to help yourself through empowerment to deal with whatever life throws at you, learn triggers of what makes you feel worse and build resilience.
